Haq Law is a growing immigration law firm in Newark, CA, working on complex immigration matters related to asylum, citizenship & naturalization, immigrant visas, adjustment of status, and removal proceedings in administrative and federal courts.

We are looking for a Legal Assistant who loves to help others, welcomes clients to the office, and manages client relationships with the Firm. The role is one of a guide for clients working with our Firm towards a resolution of their immigration journey.

The ideal candidate must have exceptional client relations skills and work well within a team.

Possible Job Duties:

⦁ Answer office phones to set up client appointments;
⦁ Answer questions regarding case updates and procedures for current and potential clients over phone/email/case management system;
⦁ Welcome clients in the office;
⦁ Follow up with consultations after initial appointment with Attorney;
⦁ Managing client billings through our automated case management system (MyCase);
⦁ Other duties as assigned by the Attorney and Case Manager related to client support.

The Ideal Candidate Has:

⦁ Spoken, written, and reading skills in Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, or Nepali (required);
⦁ Experience working in a busy immigration law office, or equivalent immigration experience;
⦁ Fluency in immigration language and terminology;
⦁ A passion for helping the immigrant community;
⦁ Exceptional client-relations skills;
⦁ Excellent attention-to-detail;
⦁ Willingness to learn new immigration procedures and office skillsets;
⦁ Strong computer literacy (Word, Excel, Microsoft Office, Adobe, etc.);
⦁ The ability to learn a new case management system (MyCase);
⦁ The ability to manage work independently after an initial training period (i.e. be self-motivated).
